user@xxxxxx:/cod# bunzip2 COD-lnxded-1.5-large.tar.bz2

bunzip2: Data integrity error when decompressing.
Input file = COD-lnxded-1.5-large.tar.bz2, output file = COD-lnxded-1.5-large.tar

It is possible that the compressed file(s) have become corrupted.
You can use the -tvv option to test integrity of such files.

You can use the `bzip2recover' program to attempt to recover
data from undamaged sections of corrupted files.

bunzip2: Deleting output file COD-lnxded-1.5-large.tar, if it exists.

Was spricht bunzip2 -V bei dir? Version >= 1.0.2?
Irgendwelche Fehler bei dpkg -s bzip2?
Im Notfall kann ich dir eine bereits auf tar entpackte schicken. Keine Ahnung was da kaputt sein könnte. <kellerkind@internationaloldstars.de> Vielleicht mal apt-get remove bzip2 apt-get install bzip2 (Auf eigene Gefahr)

Package: bzip2
Status: install ok installed
Priority: optional
Section: utils
Installed-Size: 484
Maintainer: Ubuntu Core Developers <ubuntu-devel-discuss@lists.ubuntu.com>
Architecture: i386

Depends: libbz2-1.0 (= 1.0.3-6build1)
Description: high-quality block-sorting file compressor - utilities
bzip2 is a freely available, patent free, high-quality data compressor.
It typically compresses files to within 10% to 15% of the best available
techniques, whilst being around twice as fast at compression and six
 times faster at decompression.
 .
bzip2 compresses files using the Burrows-Wheeler block-sorting text
compression algorithm, and Huffman coding. Compression is generally
considerably better than that achieved by more conventional
LZ77/LZ78-based compressors, and approaches the performance of the PPM
 family of statistical compressors.
 .
The archive file format of bzip2 (.bz2) is incompatible with that of its
 predecessor, bzip (.bz).
